Its official, Apple has finally unveiled the iPhone 12 at its virtual event with a stunning new block design that most of us have been anticipating, and finally sporting 5G connectivity.
Like its predecessor, it comes with a 6.1″ display with five colorful options to choose from, screen technology is however a much better Super Retina XDR Display and protected a stronger glass called Ceramic Shield, which Apple has worked with Corning to develop a crystalized glass that’s claimed to have 4x better drop performance than most smartphone glass.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 12 is powered by the A14 Bionic chip that’s built on a 5nm process and features a 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU, it is the very same silicon that powers the latest iPad Air and Apple claims it is 50% faster than most current smartphone chips in both performance and graphics.
Although the iPhone 12 still retains a dual camera setup, they have been significantly improved for low light shooting with a 12MP f/1.6 7-element wide angle lens and an all-new 12MP f/2.4 ultra-wide angle lens. With the new camera system, the iPhone 12 also introduces a new Night Mode Time Lapse feature that takes impressive low light videos.
On top of that, the iPhone 12 will include a new way of charging by using the MagSafe connector and supports a variety of accessories, while Apple is shipping the USB-C to Lightning cable as standard despite omitting the charging brick for environmental reasons.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini will retail from RM3399 and RM3899 respectively, while storage capacity will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB with color options of blue, green, black, white and (PRODUCT)RED.
